Douglas told the committee she and her family have used Delaware beaches since 1975 and that her professional background includes enforcement work at the EPA, private practice and work for the National Association of Clean Air Agencies. “If confirmed, I would bring to the board my experience balancing competing interests and weighing the language and intent of environmental statutes,” she said.
Douglas noted volunteer activities and lobbying on recent state measures including the Climate Change Solutions Act and the Energy Solutions Act of 2024. Senator Huxtable told Douglas it was “lovely to see you here” and signaled support following an earlier conversation; other members expressed appreciation for her work on coastal and climate issues.
