Sean Davis elected chair of Hanover board; Stoneman to serve as vice chair; schedule, committees and consent agenda adopted

The Hanover County Board of Supervisors completed its annual reorganization and procedural business, electing Supervisor Sean Davis as the 2026 board chair and Jeff Stone (recorded as Stoneman) as vice chair by voice vote.
Supervisor Hudson nominated Davis, nominations were closed by motion, and the board approved the chair election by unanimous voice vote. Davis accepted and asked committee chairs to schedule inaugural committee meetings by Feb. 13.
For vice chair, Davis nominated Stone; the board approved the nomination by voice vote. The board also adopted its 2026 meeting schedule, approved additional holidays, confirmed committee assignments, readopted standing rules and approved the consent agenda; all motions carried on voice votes with no roll-call tallies recorded in the transcript.
Board members used the reorganization period to thank outgoing leaders, to recognize public-safety investments (Fire Station 17) and to reiterate priorities for the year including broadband, public safety and budget engagement. The county administrator and department directors were invited to assist committee chairs as work begins on the 2026 agenda.
