Planning commission updates bylaws, nominates Scott Blankenship to Sutter County post; a summary of votes

The Yuba City Planning Commission adopted a resolution updating its bylaws to align with municipal code section 8-1.01F and nominated Scott Blankenship to serve as the commission’s representative to the Sutter County Planning Commission.

Doug Libby, Development Services Director, presented the bylaws update as a "housekeeping item," saying the change reflects the city’s transition to district-based commission appointments and language in a City Council ordinance that allows the planning commission to nominate a county representative as a voting member or liaison. "So really this is just changing out the language in your bylaws to match what the council adopted by ordinance," Libby said.

A commissioner moved and a second supported adoption of a resolution updating the bylaws; commissioners voted in the affirmative and the resolution passed. Separately, a motion to nominate Scott Blankenship as the city’s representative on the Sutter County Planning Commission was moved and seconded; commissioners voted to approve the nomination.
