Supervisors leave public hearing open on potential sale of Warren Green Hotel building

At its Jan. 15 meeting the board opened a public hearing on the possible disposition of county-owned property at 10 Hotel Street (the Warren Green Hotel building) and agreed to leave the hearing open and re-advertise the item for a future meeting when more information is available.
The Fauquier County Board of Supervisors opened a public hearing Jan. 15 to receive citizen comment on the potential disposition and sale of county-owned real property known as the Warren Green Hotel building at 10 Hotel Street in Warrenton.
County staff described the property as approximately 23,000 square feet, more or less. "This is a public hearing to receive citizen comments regarding the potential disposition and sale of certain real property consisting of 23,000 square feet more or less located at 10 Hotel Street, Warrenton known as the Warren Green Hotel Building," said Mr. Bowman, who presented the item.
Mr. Bowman said the board did not wish to take action that night and suggested leaving the public hearing open so comments received that evening would be considered and the item could be advertised and placed on a future agenda for action. The board agreed to leave the hearing open and to re-advertise the item when additional information is available.
No members of the public spoke on the matter at the Jan. 15 hearing; the board took no final action on the disposition that night.
