At an 11:01 a.m. public hearing, City of Albany officials read Local Law C of 2025, which would amend Section 42-263 of the City code addressing annual salaries for elected officials. The hearing was convened to allow members of the public to testify in support or opposition to the proposed change.
An unidentified speaker read the law’s title and text and told listeners that the full text is available on the City website in the Common Council public hearings section. The speaker said, “At this time we do not have anyone signed up to provide comment in support or opposition of the local laws.” After a five-minute pause to allow for late arrivals, the hearing resumed and the speaker repeated the law’s reading.
