House recognizes Physician Assistants Day, visiting Eagle Scouts and adjourns until Jan. 30

The House paused its legislative business for a set of floor recognitions and member announcements before adjourning. Representative Meyer invited members to a Physician Assistants Day breakfast in the rotunda and said Iowa has "approximately 1,300 practicing PAs" and five training programs training about 200 students annually. Representative Srinivas introduced Officer Bill Lew from the Des Moines Police Department, and a representative from Worth reminded members about a Fireman's Chili Day event in the rotunda.

These remarks were delivered as part of routine member announcements and recognitions; they did not effect legislative action. After announcements, Representative Kauffman moved to adjourn the House until Friday, January 30 at 9 a.m. The presiding officer called for a voice vote and declared, "The ayes do have it," and the House was adjourned.

Representative Kauffman moved that "if there's no further business to come before the house, I move the house adjourn until Friday, January 30 at 9AM." The motion was approved by voice vote.
