The City of Dripping Springs council approved awarding the 2025 Roadway Maintenance Project to Lone Star Paving Company for a contract amount presented as $599,558.30, which staff said falls under the $635,000 budget and incorporates value-engineered scope extensions that add roughly 1,500 linear feet of roadway work.
Staff told council that the extended section on Post Oak is currently among the worst in need of repair and that, based on evaluation and alternates considered, extending the limited construction to include that segment was the most efficient use of available funds. A council member pressed staff on whether other roads were in worse condition; staff responded that Post Oak had experienced the most rapid degradation in recent years.
Council asked about resident notification; staff said they would install two message boards, post on Facebook, and mail notices to residents in the affected area and had been coordinating with the post office. Staff anticipated issuing a notice to proceed and working with the contractor to set a start date, likely within weeks of the award.
A motion to approve the selection and authorize staff to finalize the agreement passed on a voice vote.
