At its regular meeting the Dripping Springs City Council approved a slate of personnel and committee actions and heard a short budget update.
Council unanimously approved creating an additional Utility Operator I position after staff said salary savings in the current year would cover the cost and no budget amendment was needed. The council voted on procedural motions for appointments and reappointments: Mayor's nomination of Councilmember Wade King as the city's oversight liaison to transportation streets and areas of oversight was approved; Travis Scribe was appointed to the Transportation Committee; and the council approved the appointment of Scott Berry and reappointments of Doug Cross, John Pettit and Travis Crow to the Transportation Committee through June 30, 2027, naming Travis Crow as committee chair for a one-year term.
Consent agenda items 3 through 7 were approved earlier in the meeting by unanimous voice vote.
Council members briefly discussed quorum-notice procedures for committee meetings and staff confirmed routine posting practices. Several appointments were presented as mayoral or administrative nominations and were approved without extended debate.
Next steps: staff will post any required committee notices and update member contact information; human-resources and department managers will begin recruitment for the new Utility Operator I position.
