Council approves amended wastewater agreement allowing Village Grove to share temporary pump-and-haul capacity

The Dripping Springs City Council approved an amendment to a wastewater utility agreement that formalizes temporary sharing of pump-and-haul capacity between two developments.
Deputy City Administrator Ginger Faught told council that Village Grove and Gateway Village are both part of Dripping Springs Municipal Utility District No. 1 and that the amendment permits the two projects to share a combined 75 pump-and-haul LUEs while Village Grove constructs a temporary treatment plant on its site. "Village grove is going to build a temporary treatment plant on their site to serve both subdivisions until the city is able to take wastewater flows through our expanded wastewater treatment plant," Faught said.
Faught said the agreement clarifies that the city will operate the temporary package plant when it is online and that the developer is responsible for lease payments on the package plant rather than the city. She told the council she expects the actual pump-and-haul volume to be small and likely limited to model homes during early development.
A motion to approve the amended wastewater-utility agreement with Dripping Springs Partners LP and Taylor Morrison of Texas for the Village Grove subdivision was made and seconded and the item passed on the council floor.
