Planning Director Tori Carpenter updated the commission on pending city matters. Staff reported a potential Village Grove opening date of November 11 and said the plat recordation was in hand and final steps (including signal work) were proceeding. On broader transportation, staff described an informational meeting with TxDOT about Southern Lane and PennTrak improvements; TxDOT could not provide a firm timeline and staff said developer participation, city right‑of‑way acquisition or other partnerships might accelerate improvements but specifics remain uncertain.
Staff reported that a TCEQ permit had been submitted for a package treatment plant at Madeline Estates but that the applicant did not have authorization from the property owner to proceed; as a result that submittal was not moving forward with that developer. Staff also noted a name change and additional historic‑preservation review related to the Roxy’s project and that construction has begun at the Short Mama’s House site. On the comprehensive plan, staff said follow‑up work will include input from the Historic Preservation Commission and Parks and Recreation Commission and reconvening a joint City Council / P&Z comp‑plan committee.
Chair called for adjournment; the motion passed unanimously and the meeting ended.
