Cynthia McCallmont of SCC Planning described the plan’s intent to manage temporary sign size and placement, two permanent monument signs (one facing Highway 290 and another for the sports park), and design materials using native limestone and terraced plantings. She said staff reduced several temporary sign dimensions from the developer’s initial submittal to better match Dripping Springs standards.
Shane Peavy, the building official, noted the plan includes 25 total signs (22 temporary, two permanent development signs, and one long‑term project sign) and that staff will verify placement relative to easements and the planned Village Grove Parkway alignment. Council discussed maintenance responsibility for permanent signs and the need to document maintenance agreements; staff said a two‑year maintenance bond typically covers the initial maintenance period and the applicant should clarify longer‑term ownership and upkeep.
With no public speakers during the hearing, council approved the ordinance adopting the Village Grove master sign plan and directed staff and the applicant to resolve any Parks & Rec concerns about the Sports & Rec Park sign element and return if the applicant seeks modifications.
