The Dripping Springs City Council voted to award an agreement for sewage sludge disposal and related wastewater services to Wastewater Transport Services LLC and authorized city staff to finalize and execute the contract.
Circulated earlier this year as an RFP, the sludge-hauling bid package drew three responses. Gray (utility staff) told council Wastewater Transport Services — the city’s incumbent provider — was the low bidder on the base sludge‑hauling service. “For the base services that we bid, they were the low bidder,” Gray said, adding that bidders had also provided emergency pricing but the award was based on the base service.
Staff told the council the city expects to spend more than $50,000 this year for sludge hauling across the three treatment plants and asked for authorization to enter the agreement and finalize contract terms. A council member moved to award the agreement; the motion was seconded by Jeffrey and the motion carried with the council voting in favor.
Ending: The council approved the award and authorized staff to finalize and execute the agreement; staff will return with any finalized contract documents as required by procurement rules.
