Scott County School District 2 board re-elects officers, confirms appointments

The Scott County School District 2 Board of Trustees completed its 2026 reorganizational meeting with nominations and approvals for board officers and several district appointments. Board members nominated "Jonathan" for president, selected Miss Woods as vice president and appointed Rick Zollman as board secretary. The nominations were seconded and approved by voice vote.

The board also confirmed district appointments recommended by administration. Casey Cheatham was named district treasurer and Tammy Mosher was appointed extracurricular account treasurer; the motion to approve those appointments was seconded and passed with a recorded vote of 5–0. Krista West was recommended and approved as local legal counsel; Michelle Cooper of Lewis and Cappas was approved as nonlocal/as-needed board attorney. Heather White was confirmed as clerk to the board. The board retained its historical practice of appointing the same officers to the board of finance.

The superintendent recommended updating board compensation to align with state statute: an annual stipend of $2,000 per board member, $150 per regular meeting and $75 per special meeting, with payments made quarterly. Members moved and approved the recommendation.

Administrators also reviewed committee assignments, including continuing the transportation committee with Mister Zoman and Mister McIntosh, and discussed the ISBA legislative liaison role to monitor state legislation. Several routine governance matters — including designation of West Banko as the district depository and a required review of financial indicators under IC 20-19-7-4 — were presented and approved.

The board adjourned the reorganizational meeting before moving into a regular session agenda.
