The Board of City Service Commissioners approved three personnel-related requests Jan. 27, extending temporary appointments for a mayoral office systems analyst, two Milwaukee Water Works employees and eight Department of Public Works winter relief drivers.
President Frank Bach summarized the mayor’s request for Mary Reid, saying the section where Reid works has been set up as a standalone department but the permanent top position has not yet been selected. He said the purpose of the extension was “to maintain continuity of operations.” The board approved a second extension request for Mary Reid that will run from Feb. 1, 2026, through June 1, 2026.
The board also approved a third 90-day extension at the request of Milwaukee Water Works for Mark Miller and Eric Wilson (Water Repair Worker 2, auxiliary), covering Jan. 18, 2026, through March 28, 2026. Jane Islow, Waterworks administration manager, provided the request and supporting paperwork.
Separately, the Department of Public Works requested five-month extensions (Jan. 8, 2026–May 9, 2026) for eight seasonal winter relief drivers with commercial driver licenses — Reynaldo Cortez, Jean Darune, Jerry Gaynor, Stanley Haynes, Eric Jackson, Michael Mack, Thomas Neil and Gary Payton — citing prior experience in snow and ice operations. Danielle Rodriguez, director of operations, provided the explanation and paperwork. The board moved, seconded and approved all three requests in sequence.
All personnel extension motions passed on unanimous recorded votes among the commissioners present.
