Commission recommends vacation of legacy paper streets (VA 25031)

The City Plan Commission on Jan. 29 recommended that City Council approve the vacation of several paper‑street right‑of‑way remnants — Grove Street, Iron Street and Wallace Street — on the east and west sides of Beach Street in Page Company's East Side Addition (case VA 25031).
Staff explained these segments are remnants of an earlier street grid and that adjacent rights of way had previously been vacated; this action is intended to "clean up" records and simplify future planning for properties on either side of Beach Street. No applicants or members of the public spoke in favor or opposition at the public hearing.
Commissioner Musher moved to approve the vacation and Commissioner Johnson seconded. Roll call showed unanimous yes votes by those present and the commission passed the recommendation to council.
The recommendation is administrative and will be forwarded to City Council for final action.
