Committee appoints Monica Lara Bravo to fill unexpired DFW Airport Board seat D9

The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee voted to appoint Monica Lara Bravo to the unexpired position D9 on the DFW Airport Board of Directors, to serve through Jan. 31. Council member Miss Blackman moved the appointment and said, “I wish to move, that we we appoint Monica Lara Bravo to the unexpired term in the position D9.” The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
The committee discussed two options: leave the seat vacant until the full-term appointment takes effect Jan. 31, or appoint someone to the partial term now so the board has representation. The committee chose the latter; staff said full-term recommendations for DFW Airport board members will be voted on by the full city council on Dec. 10.
The committee also approved the Nov. 17 Transportation and Infrastructure Committee meeting minutes earlier in the session.
No roll-call vote counts were provided in the committee record; the motion was adopted by the committee’s vocal ‘ayes.’ The appointment fills an unexpired term created by a resignation effective Nov. 4; the seat remains subject to subsequent full-term confirmation on the council calendar.
