Court staff confirmed the petition contained the requisite signatures and noted the legal notice must run in the local newspaper prior to the hearing. Commissioners discussed scheduling around an upcoming conference and agreed the hearing notice will be published and the hearing held on Aug. 11 so the matter can be decided after required public notice.
The county will publish the notice for the two-week statutory posting period and return the matter to the court for final action following the hearing.
