Anderson County court approves bond reissuance for CHRISTUS Health, precinct consolidations, replat and routine renewals

During its regular session the Anderson County Commissioners Court handled a series of routine but consequential items.
Resolution R072025: The court approved resolution R072025 permitting the reissuance of bonds by the Tarrant County Cultural Education Facility Finance Corporation on behalf of CHRISTUS Health to finance health facilities in Anderson County. The judge said outside counsel and county counsel reviewed the matter and an email from Jim Allison said the county would not assume liability; the motion was approved by voice vote.
Elections: The court approved Consolidation Orders under Chapter 42 of the Texas Election Code for the Nov. 4, 2025 constitutional amendment ballot, combining several polling locations (examples cited included Jensen Springs with Slocum and other pairings); orders also appointed presiding and alternate judges for precincts for the term beginning Sept. 22, 2025 through Sept. 22, 2026.
Land use and planning: The court approved a final replat for Oak River Phase 1 (lots 19, 20 and 21 of Block 1 and lots 27 and 28 of the common area) after the applicant (Nathan Spillman) explained the reshaping, which was intended to reflect highest-and-best use and drainage easements.
Personnel and renewals: The court accepted the resignation of Kathleen Caston from the Anderson County Child Welfare Board and approved liability-insurance and workers' compensation renewal questionnaires to be submitted to the Texas Association of Counties for pricing.
Capital purchase: The court approved the purchase and installation of four electric locks for the county jail from Montgomery Technologies LLC in the amount of $14,176.80 to be paid from Capital Outlay; staff said prior lock hardware required adapter plates and the new locks are now operational.
The court passed the routine items mostly by voice vote and adjourned after a short update on bridge repairs and a utility crossing related to a Charter/Spectrum fiber bore on Anderson County Road 2018.
