The court voted to "receive the outside audit report" from Patilla Brown & Hill LLP after auditor Pruitt told the commissioners the firm issued an "unmodified opinion," meaning the county’s financial statements were free of material misstatement. "You've got a clean opinion on your financial statements," Pruitt said, adding there were no significant internal‑control deficiencies in the financial‑statement or grant compliance audits.
The meeting covered routine business and several action items. The court approved a one‑year, $1,200 lease with the trustees of the Green Bay Community Center to host a county portable polling place and approved a Terracon geotechnical proposal ($4,500) for the AgriLife Extension Services expansion at 603 North Sycamore Street.
On land and planning matters, the court granted preliminary plat approval for Lone Star RV Park (30 RV spots) on FM 2706 for Abigail and Andrew Downing and later approved a replat of 1.86 acres on FM 320 for John and Kimberly Donovan after staff confirmed septic and 911 addressing.
Sheriff Flores told the court a change in the four‑week magistrate rotation used for jail magistrate warnings will create a coverage gap on some weekends and warned that failing to provide timely magistrate warnings "may expose us to liability." He asked the court to address the rotation in a future meeting.
