The CDBG Allocation Committee unanimously approved Kim as its vice chair at the start of its first meeting on Feb. 3. Chair Teal opened nominations and said the vice chair "fills in when the chairman is not available, to basically just run the meetings." Committee members nominated and seconded Kim, and members signaled approval by voice and raised hands.
The committee adopted the slate without a roll-call tally and proceeded to discuss the committee's review process and scoring rules. Chair Teal said the vice chair would step in to run meetings when needed and thanked members for the quick vote.
The appointment was procedural and did not include any additional duties beyond the standard role of presiding when the chair is absent; the committee immediately turned to its substantive agenda items.
