Planning Commission adopts minutes and consent agenda, continues item 6 for two cycles

Chair Chris Meyer opened the Minneapolis Planning Commission meeting on Jan. 20, 2006, called the roll and confirmed a quorum of five members present. "My name is Chris Meyer, and I'm a chair of the commission," he said as he started the session.
The commission first moved to adopt the minutes from the Jan. 5, 2026 meeting. A motion and second were made, the commission called for the question and the minutes were adopted by voice vote.
The meeting then turned to organizing the agenda. Staff recommended placing four public-hearing items on the consent agenda. Chair Meyer read the items aloud by address and ward and asked whether anyone was present to speak against the staff recommendation. A commissioner asked for clarification that item number 6 was a "2 cycle continuance," and Chair Meyer confirmed the continuance; the commission left items 4, 5 and 7 on consent and continued item 6.
Chair Meyer opened the consent hearing and invited public comment; no one came forward. Commissioners moved and seconded to adopt the consent agenda; the commission approved it by voice vote.
Commissioner Jones moved to adopt the 2026 Planning Commission calendar; after a second and no further discussion, the calendar was adopted by voice vote. Chair Meyer announced that the Committee of the Whole scheduled for Thursday was canceled and reminded members that the next regular meeting would be Feb. 2.
The meeting concluded with a brief staff check-in — "No updates from staff" — and Chair Meyer thanked attendees and closed the meeting.
