Leader Johnson moved that, pursuant to House Joint Resolution 742, the Senate recess and repair to the House chamber for the governor's State of the State address at 6 p.m. The motion passed without objection and the Senate stood in recess to attend the joint convention. Leader Johnson also moved that "at the conclusion of the joint convention, the Senate stand in adjournment until 08:30AM, Thursday next," which the chamber adopted without objection.
The motion was procedural and put the full Senate on the floor of the joint convention for the governor's address; the Senate record shows it stood in recess and thereafter adjournment was scheduled until 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
