Daggett County Commission acknowledges financial reports, approves RDA disbursement and event permits

The Daggett County Commission on Jan. 16 acknowledged routine financial reports and approved several small administrative items, including an RDA disbursement and a Forest Service permit for a community fundraiser.

In a series of procedural actions, the commission acknowledged the county cash summary and accounts receivable report as of Jan. 16, 2026, approved an open invoice register dated Jan. 13, 2026 containing standard invoices totaling $96,730.68, and acknowledged the county disbursement summary for Jan. 8–13, 2026 in the amount of $250,232.45. The commission also acknowledged an RDA disbursement summary from Zions checking for the same period totaling $1,710. All of those items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote in open session.

Separately, the commission approved a Forest Service permit application for the community event known as “Freeze the Gorge.” Organizers told the commission the event will be free to participants and rely on donations and optional merchandise sales (hoodies) for fundraising. Commissioners discussed logistics including participant waivers and estimated attendance before moving and approving the permit application.
