Box Elder adopts 2025 comprehensive plan to guide next 10–20 years

The Box Elder City Council on July 1 voted to adopt the city’s 2025 comprehensive plan update, approving Resolution 25-27.
The planning director presented the update, saying the process began in 2021 and that the 2014 plan had guided city work: "Our 2014 comprehensive plan was a great plan. We've done 83% of the goals of that plan," the director said, and described six guiding principles — economic prosperity and resilience; quality of life and community well-being; responsible resource management; infrastructure investment and maintenance; sustainable growth and development; and placemaking — that are embedded throughout the new document.
Council member Davis moved to approve Resolution 25-27; Schubert seconded the motion. On roll call the council recorded affirmative votes and the motion passed.
The council opened a public hearing on the update at 7:01 p.m., heard no public comments and closed the hearing two minutes later. The planning director told the council the update aligns public feedback with policy chapters and implementation steps intended to guide Box Elder’s growth over the next 10 to 20 years.
The council approved the plan as presented; materials and the adopted resolution will be part of the city record and implementation planning going forward.
