Senate committee backs Ginger Chin for Davis Technical College board

Chin also described roles in the governor's office of economic development, work with the Salt Lake Chamber and her current position in public policy at Northrop Grumman.
Committee members asked Chin how she would use those industry ties on the board. "I think for me, it's about industry and workforce," Chin said, describing plans to help align programs with employer needs and to expose students to emerging technology fields that are creating job demand.
Senator Johnson moved that the committee recommend Chin to the full Senate. The motion passed by voice vote with unanimous "aye" responses from committee members; the transcript records the recommendation but does not include a numeric roll-call tally.
If confirmed by the full Senate, Chin will replace Christina Brown as a business representative member of the Davis Technical College Board of Trustees. The committee’s recommendation is advisory; final appointment is made by the full Senate.
