SALT LAKE CITY — Brian Smith, presenting on behalf of the Legislative Compensation Commission, told the Executive Appropriations Committee the commission recommends a 5% cost-of-living adjustment to legislators’ daily rate, raising it to $316.
Smith said the commission meets biennially, surveys legislators and considered comparative data to form the recommendation. The commission proposed continuing the legislative survey to increase response rates and recommended no change to leadership pay.
The committee accepted the report for consideration; there were no follow-up questions recorded in the meeting minutes.
