Representative Albrecht presented Senate Bill 20, described as a lengthy technical cleanup of natural-resources code that removes obsolete programs, updates definitions and requires some annual reports to the legislative committee by Oct. 1. The sponsor said the bill had passed the interim committee unanimously after substantial drafting work and that most changes are technical in nature.
Committee members asked no clarifying questions; Representative Monson moved a favorable recommendation and the committee approved SB 20 by unanimous voice vote. Because the bill is primarily a technical cleanup, the sponsor described it as noncontroversial and noted there was prior interim work and stakeholder review.
