Colorado House schedules hearings, caucus meetings and stands in recess

Members of the Colorado House of Representatives used the floor to announce a series of committee meetings, stakeholder events and constituency visits before adjourning into recess.

Representative Mabry told Judiciary Committee members to attend Part 2 of the committee's "smart act" hearing at 10:00 a.m. in the Old State Library, where testimony is expected from the judicial branch, the Board of Parole, the Access to Justice Commission, the Commission on Judicial Discipline, the Behavioral Health Administration and the Office of the State Public Defender. Rob Valdez announced a rescheduled public safety power shutdown hearing on January 30 (likely in the afternoon). Rep Gilchrist said the Health and Human Services Committee would meet at 1:30 p.m. in Room 112 for a presentation by the Colorado Health Foundation and the Save Our Safety Net Coalition.

Representative McCormick highlighted the National Western Stock Show's junior livestock sale and said the Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Committee will meet to consider three sunset reviews: the Colorado Food Systems Advisory Council, the Colorado Forest Health Council and the Veterinary Pharmaceutical Advisory Committee. The Minority Leader invited members to an aerospace and defense caucus meeting at noon in HCR 109 to discuss Artemis 2. Representative Marshall invited members to a legislative breakfast for land surveyors tomorrow morning.

Finally, Majority Leader Duran moved "the house stand in recess until later today." The Speaker Pro Tem, seeing no objection, declared the House in recess until later today.
