Bulverde issues several proclamations, including Domestic Violence Awareness Month; council recognizes police and community organizations

At its Oct. 14 meeting, the Bulverde City Council issued proclamations and recognitions focused on community health, safety and outreach.
Mayor Helen Hayes presented a proclamation recognizing October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and invited residents to support the Crisis Center of Comal County. A Crisis Center representative told the council the center will soon open a new shelter expanding capacity from 24 beds to 90 and described recent client statistics and services. The council also proclaimed a Hill Country Night Sky Month to raise awareness about light pollution and announced a local screening of the film "The Stars at Night." In addition, the council proclaimed October 2025 as Drug-Free Pain Management Awareness Month in recognition of Taproot Chiropractic & Wellness and cited national opioid-related statistics referenced in the staff presentation.
Council members thanked staff and community partners, and recognized Police Officer Adam James for five years of service to the city. No formal action or funding decisions were taken as part of the proclamations.
