Council unanimously approved an ordinance amending the FY2025–26 budget to recognize previously awarded police grant funds and corresponding spending.
Finance staff told council the ordinance recognizes a $75,000 police grant and an associated $75,000 increase for police vehicle funding that had been previously authorized by grant application and award. "They were actually awarded the money," finance staff said, adding the change adjusts the adopted fiscal-year budget to reflect the receipt and appropriation of those funds.
In the financial overview, staff reported year-to-date revenue at 109.66% of budget and noted some adjustments may follow once auditors complete on-site work in January. Councilmembers thanked staff for pursuing grants and voted to adopt the ordinance by voice vote.
The ordinance also included a general severability clause and a second date provision; staff said audit activity could produce minor bookkeeping adjustments when accruals for sales and mixed-beverage taxes are finalized.
