Boerne honors Mike Mann after more than 25 years overseeing city utilities

At its Jan. 13 meeting the City of Boerne recognized Mike Mann for more than 25 years of service overseeing the city’s utility systems. Mayor Pro Tem Ty Wallison and multiple council members praised Mann’s leadership in developing electric, water, reclaimed water and natural gas systems and presented him with a key to the city.
Council members highlighted Mann’s long‑range planning and credited him with building redundancy, reliability and future capacity into Boerne’s utilities. Joe (council member) and others referenced facility tours and Mann’s role in educating students and the public about water conservation, wastewater treatment and system planning.
Mann, who said he had not prepared remarks, gave credit to the field staff: “the credit for how things operate belong to the community and especially to the guys … out there actually doing the work.” The council and attendees took photos following the presentation and thanked Mann and his spouse Kelly for their service and support.
The council then moved on to business; no formal action beyond the recognition occurred.
