North Spencer board approves claims, end-of-year budget transfers and treasurer appointments

The board reviewed and approved three claim dockets: a Dec. 22 docket (claims 108 to 568) totaling $290,371.55; a Dec. 31 docket (claims 108570 to 108611) totaling $42,976.30; and a Jan. 12 docket (claims 108612 to 108671) totaling $280,114.39. The superintendent noted certain trustees needed to abstain on specific claim numbers as recorded in the dockets. The board moved and approved setting the claims.
A motion was approved to appoint Jerry Ford as corporation treasurer and to name a deputy treasurer; the board also approved bonding for the treasurers and related estimates. The superintendent reviewed monthly revenues and explained that December property-tax receipts bolstered the operations and debt-service funds.
The board also approved end-of-year budget transfers to close the '25 budget year under a resolution dated Sept. 30, 2024 that authorizes necessary transfers. Trustees were given links to interactively review fund balances, student-demographic breakdowns and registered-investment statements.
No contested votes or additional budget amendments were recorded in the public minutes for these items.
