At its first December 2025 meeting, the North Spencer County School Corporation board approved a package of routine business including payment of claims, personnel appointments and a six-figure budget transfer.
The treasurer presented claims numbered 108414 through 108497 totaling $315,257.49; the board approved payment after a brief note about one disputed/duplicate claim. The board accepted the resignation of high school head football coach Todd Wilkerson and approved recommended appointments including Regina Smith for a school nurse vacancy and two volunteer baseball coaches, Patrick Cruz and Trey Dobie.
In budget actions, the board approved a request to transfer $833,333 from the education operations fund to operations to close out the year. The board also granted staff procedural authorities: permission to advertise for and receive bids on pending projects, pre-approval to hire over winter break if needed, and authority to make necessary encumbrances and transfers within the 2025 budget.
Other approved routine items included three field trips, a professional leave request to attend the Indiana High School Baseball Coach Association Clinic in January, approval for the endorsement soccer association to use the Pack Building on Saturdays and authorization to close administrative offices Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. The board then moved to its project updates and finished the meeting by entering executive session.
Votes were recorded as motions made, seconded and carried for each item; the transcript records multiple verbal "aye" responses and motions carried but does not list roll-call vote tallies by individual board member for each item.
