"But today, we're presenting you with a check for $47,702.61, rebates for participating in that program," said Jill Berry, who said she manages energy-efficiency programs for CenterPoint Energy. Berry told the board the funds reward lighting, HVAC and building controls upgrades intended to make the building more energy efficient and reduce energy consumption.
District officials thanked the visitors and acknowledged upcoming projects that could also qualify for utility incentives. The presentation noted the improvements were part of a broader effort to revitalize the middle school and reduce operating costs.
Board members recorded their appreciation and moved on to the next agenda item. No formal vote or allocation of the rebate funds was recorded in the public minutes during the presentation; district staff indicated the rebate was provided as part of CenterPoint’s regular incentive program.
