Dr. Gary Coleman told the Economic Development Partnership Board that a Denton‑centered Mobility Innovation Summit will be held March 26 at the Monroe Pearson Building to promote an innovation ecosystem that draws entrepreneurs, venture capital and public‑sector partners.
The daylong program will include an opening by Mary, a keynote from Allison Malek (cofounder of Maine Mobility and a former General Motors EV program staffer), panels on urban freight and logistics with regional industry participants, a session on aerospace workforce moderated by Ryan Adams, and a reception and pitch session to highlight entrepreneurs and small businesses. Coleman said the summit is part of a National Science Foundation grant and includes partner universities and institutions such as UNT, the University of Texas at Arlington and Dallas College.
Coleman asked board members to circulate a 'save the date' and noted registration details would be shared via staff. He said the program will run roughly 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with a morning meet‑and‑greet and an evening reception for pitches.
