The council unanimously approved an ordinance to designate 3316 Roselawn Drive a historic landmark under the Denton Development Code (DDC section 2.9.4). Principal findings presented by Cameron Robertson noted the house’s blend of late-Victorian vernacular and later Greek/Italianate-influenced additions, multi-phase construction history and associations with Dr. Harold Brenholtz, a former University of North Texas educator and civic organizer.
Staff described public outreach (mail notices and courtesy notices) and reported one response in favor; both the Historic Landmark Commission and Planning & Zoning recommended approval. After a brief public hearing, Mayor Pro Tem moved approval and council voted 7–0.
The designation requires no immediate exterior alterations but provides historic protections under the code.
