Committee members emphasized training teachers and students in prompt design and requiring a standard citation indicating when AI was used for an assignment.
"The MatchSchool is our only approved AI system right now," a committee member said, adding that teachers will teach students how to prompt AI, use their own ideas and cite outputs. An AI ambassador who has piloted the tools in English and EC classrooms described using Magic School and tools such as Brisk to differentiate instruction, create quizzes and speed formative feedback.
The board discussed standardizing citation rules for AI-generated work; presenters said they would meet with English department leads to develop a uniform approach and that parent attestations for AI use will be distributed at the start of the school year with opt-out contingencies.
Committee leaders said they plan summer working sessions to prepare materials and that the district will monitor classroom rollout and adjust guidance as needed.
