Museum and community programs: Hall of Fame festival, new Bow Line film event and junior entrepreneurs set for spring

Museum staff reported low winter visitation but said program and store revenues are supporting operations. Janet, the museum representative, said December visitation was down (149 visitors in December versus 181 in the prior year) but noted store sales were nearly $1,000, helped by local promotions and the Energize Expedition program.
Janet said the Hall of Fame committee begins meeting to select inductees and will announce names in mid-March; the Hall of Fame festival raised a little over $60,000 last year with about $10,000 in expenses, and staff are planning a three-day festival with events intended to increase overnight stays and hotel use.
The museum will also pilot a Bow Line Film Festival in March, aligning with John Wesley Powell birthday weekend, and is considering ribbon-cutting and opening events to highlight a possible film trail marker at the museum.
Separately, staff described the county'funded Junior Entrepreneurs program: two weeks in February for ages 8'13 and 14'19, sessions 4:00'06:00, training materials and a Shark Tank-style pitch contest on March 12. The county funds the program and provides free workbooks and shirts; Cassadale City provides free business licenses to program participants for the county fair and other events.
