CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The Health and Human Resources Committee reported Jan. 15 a committee substitute for Senate Bill 231, a measure relating to value‑based payment requirements.
Committee chair Brian Helton told the Senate the committee "has had under consideration Senate Bill 231 relating to value based payment requirements and reports back a committee substitute for same with the recommendation that the committee substitute do pass, but under the original double committee reference, first be referred to the committee on finance." The committee did not provide a floor vote tally during the report.
The subcommittee action advances a revised version of SB 231 for additional review by the Finance Committee under the chamber's double reference practice. No final floor action on SB 231 was taken on Jan. 15.
Next steps: The committee substitute will be referred to the Committee on Finance for further consideration before any final Senate vote.
