Senate committee advances Sandra Lopez to full Senate for State Personnel Board

Lopez, who described 27 years of professional public service in human resources and work at the State Personnel Office and as assistant commissioner at the State Land Office, told the committee she is honored to represent the state’s roughly 18,000 employees and emphasized her experience with compensation, classification and internal controls.
Andy Ramos, president and CEO of the State Employees Credit Union, and written statements from former leaders praised Lopez’s judgment, fairness and experience safeguarding members’ assets. Committee members recognized Lopez’s long interim service and leadership in the State Employees Credit Union supervisory committee.
Senator Duhigg moved to advance Lopez’s nomination; the chair announced it would move forward with committee support. The nomination now proceeds to the full Senate for a final confirmation vote.
