Senator Ortiz introduced students from Grand Canyon University’s Government and History Club who toured the Capitol.
Senator Dunn recognized the Arizona Food Bank Network and member organizations (including the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Desert Mission Food Bank, St. Mary’s Food Bank, United Food Bank and the Human Community Food Bank), telling the Senate the statewide emergency food network serves more than 72,000 clients per month, an increase of roughly 60% from several years ago. Senators welcomed the guest groups and thanked them for their work.
Senator Bullock read a legislative proclamation designating the week of Jan. 26, 2026 as National School Choice Week in Arizona and encouraged members to engage with local schools.
Separately, the clerk placed a long calendar of bills and concurrent resolutions under first reading and committee reference; the posted items covered a wide range of subjects, including solar radiation management prohibition (SB1278), veterans property tax exemptions, charter school oversight and audits, groundwater and aquifer management measures, behavioral health provider appropriations, transportation projects, and several study committees. Committee meeting schedules for the coming days were also announced.
