Oldsmar Veterans Board recommends Brian Sheehan as alternate member; council confirmation required

The Oldsmar Veterans Board on Monday interviewed Brian Sheehan of Greybark Drive and voted to recommend him for a vacant alternate member position.
Sheehan said he served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1997 to 2005, moved to Oldsmar in 2021, holds an MBA from Purdue University Global and works as a project manager for industrial and commercial HVAC. He told the board he wanted to support veterans' causes and be more involved in city activities.
A board member moved to approve Sheehan's application and another member seconded the motion; the board voted by voice to approve recommending him. Chair noted the board's recommendation will be forwarded to the Oldsmar City Council for final action and said Sheehan was invited to the Feb. 17 City Council meeting where the appointment will appear on the agenda.
The board's approval at this meeting constitutes a recommendation; final appointment is contingent on City Council confirmation.
