Resident thanks board for Veterans Day event, announces bid for Baltimore City Council

Amber Stevens, of 318 Lafayette Boulevard, used the board's open forum on Monday to thank the Oldsmar Veterans Board and staff for a well-attended Veterans Day ceremony and to offer help planning future events.
"You guys did a great job planning as did staff. It was well attended, beautiful, and the weather was perfect," Stevens said, and offered to serve on planning committees for future ceremonies and the city's 250th birthday celebration. She told board members she would leave contact cards with staff and thanked those who signed her petition, saying she is an announced candidate for Baltimore City Council seat 3.
Stevens's remarks came during the board's standard five-minute public comment period. The board did not take any action on her candidacy; public comments were accepted for the record.
