City staff said the $91,600 contract will fund plans, specifications and permits needed to design a new 10-foot-wide asphalt shared-use trail connecting the west side ball fields in Municipal Park through a wooded area and across an existing bridge installed in 2025; the project also covers rehabilitation or repaving of existing 8-foot trails around ball fields 1–8 and the paved trails surrounding the Hilliard Athletic Complex. Staff emphasized prior coordination on the Clover Grove Stream restoration project with Ohio EPA for stormwater permitting and with FEMA for floodplain mapping as reasons to retain a firm familiar with the site.
Council members did not request further conditions during the meeting. The resolution takes effect at the earliest date allowable by law.
