Commission approves routine claims, truck repair and engineering agreement; pays quarterly TRICO support

At its Feb. 3 meeting the Linn County Board of Commissioners approved routine meeting minutes and vendor claims, authorized vehicle repairs and an engineering contract for a state project, and approved a budgeted TRICO invoice payment.
The board approved minutes and a claims docket of $258,256.50 and an ads/abates amount of $789.18 by voice vote. Public Works asked the commission to authorize a transmission replacement for a 2006 dump truck that has a cracked transmission housing; the board approved the $12,169.20 quote to repair the truck.
Jesse Walton described paperwork for the south half of county project 1095 and presented an agreement with Cook, Flatt & Strobel for preliminary engineering; the commission voted to enter the agreement so the county can forward documents to KDOT and proceed toward letting this portion of the project in spring.
The clerk presented a TRICO invoice tied to the county’s annual budgeted support (2026 budget line item $49,385). Commissioners moved and approved a partial payment of $11,646.50 for TRICO’s first quarter claim. The clerk also presented 2026 Southeast Kansas Regional Planning Commission membership dues of $3,838.65; commissioners discussed the item and agreed to wait for Commissioner Jason’s input on the board’s representative value before final action.
No other procurement actions or contract awards requiring separate notice were completed at this meeting.
