The Davis County Commission on Aug. 5 unanimously approved the appointment of Jamie Duster to the Bountiful Irrigation District board to replace a trustee who resigned at the end of July.
Chair Loreen Kamalu introduced the nominee after a recommendation from the district’s trustees. Dorel, speaking for the district, briefed commissioners on Duster’s local ties and public-service motivation. Duster told the commission he has lived in Bountiful for 38 years and is “happy to serve.”
Commissioner Cross moved to approve the appointment; the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote. The board announced the term will begin on Aug. 1, 2025, and expire July 31, 2029.
No public comment was recorded on the appointment at the meeting. The commission’s action completes the local appointment process; the Bountiful Irrigation District’s trustees had recommended the nominee to the county for placement on the district board.
