County Manager Rears and facilities Director Keenan explained the work was being fast-tracked so contractors would not have to remobilize and incur extra costs. Rears said he attended the district's meeting and that the district agreed to several conditions, including edits to construction plans, a requirement to remap existing sewer lines and the installation of a flow meter. Rears told commissioners the sanitation district agreed to lower the sewer tap fee "from 15,000 to 12,750 as a credit for the existing food pantry," reducing immediate cost to the county.
Commissioners moved to adopt a resolution authorizing the manager to finalize the amendment and voted unanimously to approve the measure. The board recorded the action as 3-0 in favor.
Next steps: The county manager will execute the amendment consistent with guidance from the county attorney, and facilities staff will coordinate required surveys and plan revisions with the sanitation district and project contractors.
