CapMetro board appoints six Project Connect CAC members and keeps existing officers for 2026

The CapMetro Board on Dec. 17 approved a resolution appointing six new members to the Project Connect Community Advisory Committee (CAC) after the Nominating Committee reviewed 57 applications.
Melissa Ortiz, CapMetro director of community engagement, presented the nominations recommended by the Nominating Committee: Elgardo Alexander Hondo; Carter Gonzales; Mike Gorse; Liz McGee; Susan Summers; and Stacy Suits. Ortiz said the CAC is composed of 11 members appointed by CapMetro, the ATP Board and Austin City Council using the Nominating Committee process.
The board moved and seconded the resolution and approved the six appointments unanimously.
On the same agenda the board considered election of board officers for 2026. A motion to retain the current slate—Chair Trevelyan, Vice Chair Alice and Secretary Ross—was moved, seconded and approved unanimously. Cheyenne Conyer, CapMetro chief of staff, told board members that committee appointments and committee officer elections are slated for consideration in January, with committees selecting officers after appointments are confirmed.
Ending: The CAC appointments take effect per the CAC bylaws; committee appointments will be on the January board agenda for formal confirmation and committees will hold officer elections thereafter.
