FRANKFORT, Ky. — During legislative day 19 the Kentucky House opened with prayer and the pledge, received committee reports and placed a number of committee-recommended bills on the calendar, adopted multiple citations and introduced a slate of new bills and joint resolutions across subjects including retiree health, road projects, data centers, taxation and environmental protection.
The clerk read committee reports recommending favorable action on bills addressing housing, higher education, transportation and veterans services among others; the rules committee posted House Bill 4 for regular orders for Wednesday (SEG 074-090, 819). Representative Bogdanowski presented Citation 16 recognizing National School Counseling Week and cited youth-mental-health statistics drawn from an auditor's report, noting that an estimated 25 percent of middle-school students have seriously considered suicide (SEG 553-563).
Members announced receptions and committee meeting times, including events hosted by the Kentucky Soybean Association and the Kentucky Chamber. After motions and committee recesses, the House stood adjourned until 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.
