Trustees were told these purchases are part of the department’s capital replacement plan.
On police fleet needs, the committee approved participation in joint purchasing contracts to acquire two Ford Expedition special service vehicles and two Ford Bronco Sports for specialized units and six Ford Explorer police utility vehicles; the purchases were presented with amounts not to exceed $183,577.88 and $286,524 respectively. Trustees queried why Bronco Sports were chosen and how new vehicles relate to shift patterns; staff said some purchases reflect replacement and some reflect force expansion to support 12‑hour shifts.
All motions were seconded and approved by roll call and will be forwarded to the village board for contract execution.
